Itineraries

Day 1

Ho Chi Minh City: Arrival and a wonderful city tour

Start your vacation in Vietnam by having a thrilling day of exploration in Ho Chi Minh City.

You will be met at Tan Son Nhat Airport by your guide. You will be taken to your hotel and checked in. After you have had a chance to refresh yourself, you can have an afternoon of fun around the city with those traveling with you.

Your initial stop is the Reunification Palace, a Vietnamese symbol of independence and a symbol of Vietnamese history. Next, you will see the Central Post Office, yet another beautiful French colonial structure dating back to the late 1800s. Following that, lunch at a local restaurant is appropriate before the city continues to be explored.

Up next is Notre Dame Cathedral, a leftover of Catholicism in Vietnam where Buddhism prevails. Don't forget to take some family shots in front of the imposing Opera House and City Committee House, both of which reflect French colonial style.

Continue the tour to Mariamman Hindu Temple, a Temple where you can see worship of the Goddess Mariamman with faith and cutting edge amenities. Finally stopping at the famous Ben Thanh Market in the iconic Ho Chi Minh City, of course!

You can wrap up the day by enjoying an excellent Indian dinner at one of local Indian restaurants, in small group sharing, then to your hotel to get your well deserved rest!

Tip: While you are there, take some photos of the gorgeous Notre Dame Cathedral architecture!

Day 2

Ho Chi Minh City: An astounding day trip to Mekong Delta

Your family adventure to Vietnam will certainly have that fantastic day of cultural experiences and beautiful scenery for a nice taste of the countryside.

After a nice breakfast, it's time to experience some of the diversity of the region. You will be travelling to the Mekong Delta which is referred to as the rice bowl of Vietnam, and has many other nice little towns, the Town of My Tho is one of them. The riverboat trip will be a great way for you and the family to enjoy the countryside. Down the river from My Tho the boat will stop at Vinh Trang Pagoda which is a key indicator of the region, as it is something you must see.

Before going on your day trip, fill up on a good lunch with your family.

When you arrive in My Tho, a small boat will be ready for you to take a leisurely trip along the canals to see the natural beautiful view of gardens and rural houses. You will see local families that are bee farming, planting fruit, and making coconut candy. You will see this quaint town and experience a quiet rural spot in the Mekong area.

After lunch you will return to Ho Chi Minh City, relax, have dinner, and return to the hotel for a restful evening. Today is surely going to be a highlight of your Vietnam family holiday.

Tip: It's best to be in Ho Chi Minh City during the dry season – December to April, when the weather's Hot and you will have to carry an umbrella.

Day 3

Ho Chi Minh City: Embark on a trip to Cu Chi Tunnels and other tourist hotspots

No trip to Ho Chi Minh City would be complete without exploring the interesting Cu Chi Tunnels, and your Vietnam tourism package with Fab Holidays ensures that this highlight is part of your trip.

After a healthy breakfast, I set off on an enlightening trip to explore the Cu Chi Tunnels which were a vast network that stretched more than 200 kilometers. The tunnels have a central trunk line with numerous offshoot tunnels that lead to supply caches, hide-outs, vaulter evacuation routes and living quarters, all used by the Viet Cong during their activities in the Vietnam War.

You will learn how the Viet Cong lived underground in adverse conditions. If you are comfortable, and have a desire, you could crawl through some of the original narrow tunnel space which is a fun and fascinating activity for both adults and children.

After the historic sightseeing tour, we stopped for a yummy lunch in a local restaurant. We continued to visit sites of interest, including the colourful Cho Lon Market, wild China Town and lastly the spiritually uplifted Thien Hau Temple which is dedicated to the Chinese Goddess of the Sea.

The Fab Holidays Vietnam tour, also catered for shopping for souvenirs and gifts for our friends and family.

At the end of the day we had dinner, and hit the sack to have a good night sleep, back to the hotel.

Day 4

Ho Chi Minh City: Departure to India

No longer are you going to have the traditional, standard package tours of Vietnam.

After your last breakfast at the hotel you will have your last free time to do whatever you want. You might regret leaving Vietnam, and want to hit the colourful markets of the city again for some last minute shopping, before going home. You might want to just chill with family, and absorb the good memories.

In the afternoon you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for your return flight, back to India. When the plane climbs out of the airport, you will talk and reminisce about all of the amazing experiences that Ben and Michele made happen to you through Fab Holidays.
